Tom Gibson founded Gibson Spyre in January 2025, after eight years as a Commissioner and Board Chair of Virginia Housing, the Commonwealth's housing finance authority. He knows how a tax credit application is read, scored, and argued over, because for eight years he was one of the people reading it.

He pairs that vantage point with private developer experience, and with an education from Harvard, Cornell, Georgetown, and the University of Virginia. He is a Major in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, a LEED AP BD+C, and a certified Project Management Professional.

Gibson Spyre is 100% veteran-owned. Its mission is housing for veterans and for families of low and moderate income.
